QDNYC Allen Harbor Racing – 2021 Monday Night Series

Dear PHRF Sailors and Competitors,

The QDNYC invites you to compete in our Monday Night PHRF Racing Series. This is a friendly racing series currently with two cruising divisions (non-spinnaker) and a spinnaker class for the brave at heart. We encourage boats and sailors new to racing.

The first race will be held Monday, 7 June, and races will continue every Monday evening with the final race August 30. Each race will be followed by a social gathering at the QDNYC clubhouse (with appropriate Covid precautions as needed) where the night’s results will be first announced.

There will be a Captains’ Meeting on Monday, 24 May @ 6:30 PM via Zoom (due to Covid-19 restrictions.) For an invitation to the Zoom meeting, please e-mail me at the address below. We will discuss rules, many added courses and general information. If you are planning to start on 7 June, please help us by completing your entry submission by this time.

All regular race series communications will be by e-mail. All required forms and race documents will be posted on the QDNYC web page under the “Allen Harbor Sailboat Racing” tab http://www.qdnyc.com/allen-harbor-racing/. The forms should be submitted as required with document copies kept on the boat. We plan to post weekly and series results at the QDNYC clubhouse, online and if possible, at the NK Marina building bulletin board.

Requirements for race participation are a:

• Completed and signed Entry Form

• Valid 2021 PHRF-NB rating certificate (from https://www.phrf-nb.org/get-rating)

• Certificate of Liability Insurance

• Signed Release, Waiver, and Retention of Rights Agreement Form

• Payment of the required $50 fee (fee covers committee boat expense, awards
and end of season event)

Links to required forms are posted below and please return all required forms and fee via e-mail or postal mail to me at the address shown below, preferably by 24 May.

Please also encourage your friends and acquaintances to join us. They can print out required forms from the web page or they can copy yours. We’re looking forward to an exciting season of racing. If you’d like to race but do not have an official PHRF yet, a temporary rating can be assigned based on your boat type.
